SENIOR TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE THANKS TO THE MENTORS

The e-learning pilot courses of the SAMANTHA project aims to proof the validity of the training course that the partners have developed during these two years of activity. Within this training activity a special task will be played by the Mentors, a peculiar figure that will support the learners in their activities focused to deepen the several aspects of Additive Manufacturing and the transversal skills.

Partners will involve 16 senior experts in order to create open debates and the acquisition of knowledge through direct testimonies and non-formal sessions that will take place both face-to-face and during webinars focused on specific topics in order to investigate aspects, trends and perspectives of AM.

The 16 mentors were selected from a panel of experts who were interviewed in order to identify the average profile of the mentor. During the interviews the experts gave detailed information on defined aspects of their professional experience. In particular they talked about their role played in the company where they work/collaborate, the activities carried out and the years of experience in AM field or in transversal skills, the technical knowledge and, last but not least, the foreign languages and teaching abilities.

The interviewed experts come from several working experiences and they represents both the companies point of view, but also the academic approach to the AM or the experience  offered by very high skilled technical services providers. The common thought coming from these interviews is that the advantages offered by the Additive Manufacturing are many and among these we can point out the wide flexibility with regard the quantity (production from small batches to large) and shape since it makes it possible to develop objects with complex geometries and instant modification according to customer needs.

The mentors will make an important and practical contribution because they could facilitate the learners to approach the field of Additive Manufacturing and promote not only technical knowledge but also the essential personal, social and entrepreneurial skills.
